On the site of Switzerlands's first Airport, just minutes from the city of Zurich, one of Europe’s largest **innovation ecosystems** is taking shape. The existing aircraft hangars and operational buildings are being transformed **into one of the most advanced destinations for science and industry**. At the same time, new buildings and infrastructure are being created with a clear focus on innovation, offering flexible spaces that adapt seamlessly to the needs of research, development and business. The result is a mix of open spaces, laboratories, maker spaces, and offices, complemented by testing and collaboration areas. These facilities are already in use by both academic and research institutions, as well as by the CSA (Center for Space & Aviation Switzerland & Liechtenstein). Together, they serve as **hubs for collaboration with industry partners, spin-offs, and focus teams**. The next step involves refurbishing the building envelopes and constructing new annexes along the site’s ## **Second Development Phase** In Sector B, **seven architecturally distinctive new buildings are being developed**. They will bring together a diverse range of uses including flexible laboratory, specialist areas, modern offices and meeting spaces, recreation zones as well as care facilities and culinary highlights, all in one place. Once they move in, they benefit from one of the best talent pools, access to large-scale testing areas and a runway for research flights. In this way, they advance their own innovations - directly on site and in close partnership with local universities and other stakeholders. In addition, they become part of a strong community and an internationally connected ecosystem within the clusters of **Robotics & Future Mobility**, **Space & Aviation**, and **Advanced Manufacturing**.
