P8S rethinks warehouse logistics

The company is developing AI-powered robotics systems in Dübendorf that combine storage, picking, and delivery into a single seamless process.

Founder Josef Haid spent years observing delivery drivers loading and unloading goods. His finding: a product is often handled manually 40 to over 100 times on its way from manufacturer to consumer. When he was considering in 2017 how to feed shipments onto a conveyor-belt sorting system, he realized he didn't need a sorter at all- he needed a robot that could handle the goods directly. That's how P8S was born.

The 8 stands for the infinity symbol and for the vision of circular logistics: reuse, resell, recycle. The modular system, made up of handling robots, intelligent container systems, and the AI-powered InfinityAI software suite, is ready for use within days and scales from 1,000 to over 50,000 picks per day. The technology enables picking up to ten times faster, 75 percent higher space efficiency, and 60 percent lower costs compared to conventional systems.

The solution is being developed at Innovation Park Zurich in Dübendorf, where the rental spaces at Maagtechnik offer optimal conditions for robotics and logistics use. As a member of the Innovation Park, P8S is part of a growing ecosystem of technology companies, research partners, and industry players.
